Grand Avenue Ministry Teams

Property Team: The property ministry team is responsible for making certain that the condition of the church’s property always reflects the zeal of our Christian faith. The duties and responsibilities of this team include providing general maintenance of the church facilities, oversight of the adornment of the facilities, and furthering our environmental stewardship.

Hospitality Team: This team ensures that our kitchen is stocked with essentials and kept in good condition and is free from unnecessary clutter. Those serving on this team organize and coordinate large gatherings and special events that are held by our church or are hosted in our facility and coordinate funeral dinners.

Worship Team: There are many ways to get involved with our Sunday morning worship service. Worship planning, playing a musical instrument, singing, working in the sound booth, communion/offering server, communion preparation, and communion mediation. We encourage you to explore the ways in which your talent can bring others closer to God.

Nursery Team: The nursery at Grand Avenue Christian Church is available during both services for children ages birth – 2 years. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who lovingly care for each child and make every effort to keep the children safe and happy. This ministry is extremely important, for it meets the needs of many younger families in our church, and reflects to visitors and members alike that we want to care for their whole family.

Mission Team: We strongly believe that our God is a global God, and our role as a church is to bless others around the world. This team promotes and partners with the missionaries we support. This includes special fund-raisers, organizing mission trip, and keeping the missions work visible to the congregation.

Community Outreach: This team focuses on ways to reach out to the community of Carbondale. This team’s major role is to be a coordinating arm of our partnership with Habitat for Humanity. They organize work days, provide nurture for the families involved in the project, and promote community outreach to the congregation.

Security Team: The Security team ensures that our property is a safe environment by examining and changing our physical space to minimize risk of injury, and promotes safety awareness to our congregation as a whole.
